Why won't my TV turn on or why is the screen blank?

Possible Causes: Power issue, remote malfunction, firmware crash.

What you can try:

  • Try a different wall outlet and ensure it has power.
  • Check if the power cord is securely plugged into both the TV and the wall outlet.
  • Press the power button on the TV itself.
  • Unplug the TV for 1 minute, then plug it back in.
  • Replace or check the remote batteries.

Why won’t my TV connect to Wi-Fi?

Possible Causes: Weak signal, router issue, wrong Wi-Fi password.

What you can try:

  • Restart both the TV and the Wi-Fi router.
  • Go to Settings > Network > Wi-Fi and reconnect.
  • Move the router closer or reduce interference.
  • Forget the network, then reconnect with the correct password.
  • If using a mobile hotspot, turn on Maximize Compatibility in hotspot settings.

Why do apps keep crashing or won’t open?

Possible Causes: App bug, outdated version, storage issues.

What you can try:

  • Go to Settings > Apps > [App Name] > Force Stop, then Clear Cache.
  • If the issue persists, select Clear Data.
  • Uninstall and reinstall the app.
  • Check for system updates.
  • Ensure enough free storage: Setting > Device Preferences > Storage.

Why is there no sound on my TV?

Possible Causes: Audio settings error.

What you can try:

  • Ensure the volume is up and mute is off.
  • Try a different input or source.
  • Restart the TV.
  • Go to Settings > Device Performance > Remote & Accessories and unpair any Bluetooth audio devices.

Why does my TV have no free-to-air channels?

Possible Causes: Antenna issue or incorrect settings.

What you can try:

  • Antenna not connected or faulty

Ensure the aerial cable is securely plugged in and not damaged. Indoor antennas may have weak reception.

  • Incorrect input source

Make sure the TV is in Free-to-Air mode. Press the source button and select Antenna or TV mode. Please note that Australia no longer provides analogue TV channels (ATV).

  • Wrong region/country settings

The TV may be set to a different country or region. Reset the TV and select Australia during installation.

Why is my TV slow or lagging?

Possible Causes: Limited storage, background apps, old firmware.

What you can try:

  • Clear recent apps: Hold the power button on the remote for 3+ seconds, then turn off the TV.
  • Clear app cache or uninstall unused apps.
  • Restart the TV by turning it off and on a the power point.
  • Perform a factory reset if the issue persists.

How do I perform a factory reset (as a last resort)?

What you can try:

  • Go to Settings > Device Preferences > About > Reset or Factory Data Reset.
  • Confirm and wait for the TV to reboot (this may take 5–10 minutes).
