FAQs - Fridge

Why isn’t my fridge turning on?

Possible Reasons:

  • The power cord might not be plugged in properly.
  • The circuit breaker could have tripped or a fuse might be blown.
  • Try plugging the fridge into a different power outlet.

Why isn’t the light working in my fridge?

Possible Reasons:

  • The freezer compartment doesn't have a light, only the fridge section does.
  • Double-check that the fridge is properly plugged in.

Why is the compressor running for so long?

Possible Reasons:

  • The room temperature is warmer than usual.
  • You may have added a large amount of food to the fridge.
  • The door has been opened too often or isn’t closed fully.
  • The fridge temperature setting may need adjusting.
  • The door seal might not be working properly.
  • The fridge may not have enough space around it to breathe properly.
  • If the fridge was recently unplugged for more than 6 hours, it needs time to cool down.
  • If you have an inverter compressor, it runs longer at low speed to maintain a stable temperature.

Why is my fridge too warm inside?

Possible Reasons:

  • The temperature setting might not be cool enough. Adjust it and give it a few hours to settle.
  • The door may be opened too often or too long, letting warm air in. Try opening it less.
  • The door isn’t sealing properly. Check that it’s closed fully.

Why are the outside walls of my fridge warm?

It’s totally normal for the sides of the fridge to feel a bit warmer than the room temperature. This happens because the compressor is moving heat from inside the fridge to the condenser coils, which are usually located in the walls.

Why does my fridge make popping or cracking sounds?

This is completely normal! The metal parts of your fridge expand and contract as it works, similar to hot water pipes. The sound will fade once the fridge settles into its normal operation.

Why do I hear a bubbling or gurgling sound?

The refrigerant inside your fridge is circulating. This is a normal sound and shows the fridge is cooling properly.

Why is my fridge vibrating?

Possible Reasons:

  • Make sure the fridge is sitting on a flat, even surface.
  • If the fridge rocks slightly, check that the floor can support its weight.
  • You can use wooden or metal shims to level the fridge.
  • If the fridge is too close to the wall, it could cause vibrations. Try moving it slightly away from the wall.
